Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights — written for the services Architecture Jobs Europe actually runs.

This policy explains what personal data Architecture Jobs Europe collects, why, who it is shared with, and the rights you have over it. It is written to match the services we actually run — not a generic template. If anything here is unclear, email miguel@miguelfernandez.dev.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Miguel Fernández Carratalá (NIF 48801156D), operating as a self-employed professional (autónomo) established in Spain, who runs Architecture Jobs Europe (architecturejobs.eu).

Because the controller is established in Spain, this policy is governed by Spanish data protection law (the EU General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR, and the Spanish LOPDGDD). The site serves the European market, and wherever you are in the EU/EEA you keep all your GDPR rights and may contact your local authority — see Your rights below.

What we collect, and why

  • Account and sign-in. When you create an account we process your email address to send you a magic link (we do not use passwords). If you add a name or avatar, we store those too. Legal basis: performance of the service you asked for.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, we process your email address to send periodic updates. Subscriptions are double opt-in — nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link — and you can unsubscribe from any email. Legal basis: consent.
  • Job alerts. If you set up an email alert we store your email address and the filters you chose (sector, city), to send you a digest when new openings match. Alerts are double opt-in, and the unsubscribe link in every alert email deletes the alert, including your email address. Legal basis: consent.
  • Employer and advertiser accounts. If you claim a company or purchase a placement, we process the business details you provide; to verify a claim we may send a one-time code to an email address at the company's domain. Where paid placements are offered, the payment is handled by Stripe (we never see or store full card numbers). Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Analytics. We currently run no analytics tool at all. If we ever enable one, it will be a cookieless tool that collects aggregated usage only, and we will update this policy first.
  • Server logs. Our hosting keeps standard technical logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and reliability. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising-tracking or behavioural profiling.

Cookies

We keep cookies to the minimum needed to run the site:

  • Essential session cookies (set by our authentication, Better Auth) keep you signed in. Without them, logging in would not work.
  • Payment cookies are set by Stripe for fraud prevention, only where paid placements are offered and you go through a paid flow.

We run no analytics, so there are no analytics cookies. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Who we share data with (processors)

We share data only with the service providers that make the site work, each acting as a processor under a data-processing agreement:

  • Resend — sending transactional and newsletter emails.
  • Stripe — payment processing, only if you purchase a paid placement.
  • Hetzner — hosting and object storage, in EU data centres.

Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA (for example, in the United States); where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Account data: for as long as your account exists, and a short period afterwards if needed for legal or security reasons.
  • Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
  • Job alert data: until you unsubscribe — the unsubscribe link deletes the alert and your email address with it.
  • Payment and invoicing records: for the period required by tax and accounting law.
  • Server logs: a limited rolling window.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and request portability. To exercise any of these, email miguel@miguelfernandez.dev — we will respond within the legal time limit.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The lead authority for this site is the Spanish AEPD (aepd.es). You may also contact the authority in your own EU/EEA country.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and its "last updated" date. For material changes affecting registered users, we will also notify you by email.
